Nowadays, especially in Spain, we have very normalized sending audio notes through our social networks. WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram … even if the social network in question has nothing to do with this, it will surely give you, at least, the option. The only one missing from the party era Twitter, that it seems that it has finally put the batteries.
As we can read in TechRadar, the platform is finally introducing the audio notes, although for now only in testing. It is testing this feature in Brazil and Japan, and as the name suggests, it allows users to send audio notes through direct messages.
This is a new inclusion of the concept of audio on Twitter. It has already done so by adding the ability to send audio through tweets, and with the launch of Spaces, its own function to create spaces that mimic the Clubhouse concept with audio rooms.
Twitter and audio
While there are no images of the feature yet, you don’t need to have them to get an idea of what this feature would be like. I would mimic practically the rest of the competition; A microphone button will appear in the lower right corner and with it we can record audio notes.
It is the same operation as in the rest of the platforms, especially those of Facebook. In WhatsApp or Messenger the operation is exactly the same; you press on the button, you release it by sliding up and launch the audio. The only difference is that in the case of Instagram, there is a limitation of one minute of audio.
Audio notes on Twitter will be available both on iOS and Android, but in the case of the desktop web application, users will only be able to listen to audios and not send them. Thus, if we want to send one, we will have to specifically use the mobile application.
At the moment, Twitter has not specified when it will launch this function to its main application. As we said, at the moment it is only available to a small group of test users in Brazil and Japan, and in the coming months it will make its appearance in mobile applications around the world. Something that users will appreciate, since direct messages from Twitter are a little more limited than those from other platforms.
