Libreville, Thursday August 24, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The public prosecutor at the Libreville court of first instance, André Patrick Roponat, has launched a search on this recording in which certain politicians plan to seize power by force.
An investigation is underway to shed light on the audio circulating on the web for a few days incriminating certain Gabonese personalities. In this recording involving the candidate of “Alternance 2023”, Albert Ondo Ossa, and the president of the Rassemblement pour la patrie et la modernité (RPM), Alexandre Barro Chambrier, the interested parties would plan the seizure of power by undemocratic means.
During a communication last Monday, the public prosecutor at the Libreville Court of First Instance mentioned particularly serious remarks contained in this audio. “For 24 hours, an audio recording has been circulating insistently on social networks in Gabon and has caused very strong emotion because of its shocking content in more than one respect. This recording of about twenty minutes would be a conversation between two politicians candidates for the presidential election of August 26th. In this conversation, particularly serious remarks were made on several occasions which foreshadowed an attack on State security. In view of the above, and concomitantly with a press release from the ”Alternance 2023” platform, dated August 21, 2023, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation”, declared André Patrick Roponat.
In a video broadcast in the press a few days later, journalist Joël Tatu claims to be the author of this audio which he inadvertently recorded on August 17 at the headquarters of the Réagir party. Allegations that Alternance 2023 qualifies as editing.
