Audi driver (31) flees from police control with 2.06 per thousand and without a light

The speeder crossed several intersections and thus also endangered other road users.

Leipzig – On Thursday evening it came in Leipzig district of Mockau to a rapid chase between the police and a very drunk 31-year-old.

According to the police, the officers wanted to check an Audi A6 on Löbauer Straße in Leipzig at around 8:25 p.m. However, the driver ignored the stop signal and also the switched on blue light and the siren – instead he accelerated and raced through various intersections without braking.

He drove on Zeumerstrasse in the direction of Ossietzkystrasse, on to Mockauer Strasse and Volbedingstrasse. At the Friedrichshafner Strasse intersection, he switched off the lights on his car and drove across the intersection without braking.

There he broke through a pole mat fence and crashed into an advertising board. The 31-year-old driver was uninjured, but he was clearly driving without a license and, according to the breath alcohol test, had 2.06 per mille in his blood.

There was damage to property worth 10,000 euros.

The 31-year-old is now being investigated because of the risk to road traffic in a unit of offense with prohibited car racing, drunkenness in traffic and driving without a driver’s license.
