In the first half of 2023, the growth rate of Audi car sales was significantly higher than that of its two German rivals.
Globally, Audi delivered 907,111 vehicles in the first six months of this year, an advance of 15.5% compared to the first half of 2022. In June, Audi (subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group) reported its best sales ever.
The BMW brand reported a 4.7% increase in sales in the first half of 2023, while Mercedes-Benz posted a 6% increase.
However, in absolute terms, Audi is behind Mercedes and BMW. In the first six months of this year, BMW sold 1.07 million vehicles, while Mercedes-Benz sold 1.02 million.
Audi deliveries increased by 30% in the United States and by 24% in Europe in the first half of the year, while in China they registered an advance of only 2%.
Sales of exclusively electric Audi cars rose globally by 50%, to 75,647 units. In total, every 12th new car delivered by Audi is now exclusively electric.
