The answer to this question can be found in the statistics of the association of importers, which each year provides data on car sales in our country. For the past year, the traditional leader Dacia retains its leadership, but now we will turn our attention to the German premium trio Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

These three brands are traditionally strong in our market for new cars, but for several years in a row BMW was the one that managed to sell the most new cars in Bulgaria. Now, however, the situation is different and we have a new leader. We are talking about Mercedes-Benz, which for the first time in a long time managed to overtake the Bavarians. Audi is in third place.

In the past year, 1,194 new Mercedes were sold in Bulgaria, while the number of BMWs sold in 2021 was 1,119. As we have already mentioned, Audi is in third place with sales of 625 cars in Bulgaria.
Audi Q8

In the overall ranking by brands that sold the most new cars in the domestic market, Audi ranks 15th with 625 cars sold, with the best-selling model being the Q8. The second BMW occupies the 12th position in the overall ranking with 1,119 cars sold, and their bestseller is the X5. The new leader Mercedes managed to sell 1,194 new cars in Bulgaria last year and ranks 11th in the overall standings. The best-selling Mercedes in Bulgaria is the GLE.
The picture of sales of German premium brands worldwide is also interesting. The opposite is happening there. BMW is ahead of Mercedes in sales for the first time in six years. BMW AG sold more premium cars last year than its main competitor Mercedes-Benz. The last time this happened was in 2015.
