Exclusive. The time has come for a reunion for two important Lyon auction players who have decided to join forces.
Located in front of the Hôtel-Dieu at 6, rue Marcel Gabriel Rivière, the Bremens-Belleville office managed by Jean-Marc Bremens and Christophe Belleville regularly offers prestige sales, collection vehicles, Asian art, old and modern paintings, decorative arts of the 20th century, old and modern furniture, old toys, books and manuscripts, while having a large judicial sales activity.
Jean-Marc Bremens’ decision to retire favored the reunion between his partner Christophe Belleville and Cecile Conan, manager of the Ainay auction house. The two auctioneers got to know each other during their law studies at Lyon III. Together, they bought back its shares. “Jean-Marc Bremens remains an employee and accompanies us for a while longer” reveals Cécile Conan.
“We are therefore associated with 50/50 both in judicial and voluntary activities. “
This association will make it possible to strengthen the synergies between the two studies, each of which has their own specialty: artistic for Cécile and judicial matters for Christophe. It is rue de Castries, in Ainay, where Cécile Conan settled down after leaving the Rive Gauche auction house (installed by her father Loïc rue de Cronstadt) that the voluntary sales center called “Conan-Belleville” will set up.
As for the judicial center, renamed “Belleville-Conan”, it remains in the Mions auction house (photo above). The new entity now has, in addition to the two partners, three salaried auctioneers and sold 13.7 million euros in auctions in 2020. The departure of the Bremens-Belleville study raises the question of the future of the oldest auction house in the city, located in the Presqu’île. For now, nothing has yet been decided by its last two occupants.
