Auchan Retail Polska and bp have started strategic cooperation on the Polish market, under which bp stations will open stores in a new convenience format under the Easy Auchan brand. This is Bishop’s third attempt at this format. Earlier projects with Carrefour, Piotr and Paweł failed.
On Thursday, the first pilot Easy Auchan store will be opened at the Bishop Reduta station in Warsaw. The openings of two more stores are planned for December this year.
Auchan in cooperation with bp petrol stations will launch the Easy Auchan network
“The convenience segment is a promising sales channel in which we want to be present with our comprehensive offer. Auchan is a multi-channel player – we operate as hyper- and supermarkets, in the format of Moje Auchan – local-neighborhood stores and Auchan Direct in the e-commerce channel,” said the general director Auchan in Poland Gerard Gallet.
As part of a competitively priced offer over 1,900 products will be available in Easy Auchan stores, including food, chemicals, BIO and vegan products. The product offer will include over 320 Auchan private label products, including the Pewni Dobrego product range, indicated also.
“With a reliable partner, focused just like us, to meet customer needs and search for new solutions, under the Easy Auchan brand at bp stations, we create a new convenience concept, that is a comprehensive and modern customer service center for people who value time, comfort and a quality offer“- emphasized the general director of bp retail in Poland, Barbara Wiążewska.
Before that, the bp petrol station wanted to cooperate with Carrefour (2011) and Piotr and Paweł (2017). However, both projects failed. Auchan is Bishop’s third attempt at this type of project.
New model
The new model of bp stations are future stations, the so-called service centers – i.e. places for comprehensive driver service, where customers will be able to use many additional services, e.g. cars for rent as part of the car sharing offer and a car wash offering cashless payment.
Micromobile solutions will be available at the bp station in the new version, thanks to the presence of the Bolt urban mobility platform. Ultimately, the station will also be a pickup point for purchases from Auchan in the Click & Collect option provided by Auchan.
In the future, further elements of the mobility HUB concept will be introduced at bp stations.
