Plovdiv residents lined up to measure their blood pressure in the open in front of the municipality, a reporter told Plovdiv24.bg.

“Measurement that saves your life” is the slogan of the initiative, which took place today in the regional city of the Bulgarian World Hypertension League, on the occasion of May 17 – World Hypertension Day.

“For the 15th time in a row, mass screenings are being held across the country on this day,” said Armela Demerdjian, the league’s coordinator for Plovdiv. knowing that it is an important factor in keeping them alive.

“The data show that a large percentage of people in our country suffer from hypertension and take medication for it,” said Demerdjian. “High blood pressure can cause heart attacks, strokes and blood clots in the cardiovascular system.”

According to experts, a person’s blood pressure changes with age, it also depends on the food and water we take in and everything we consume. But people in our country are well aware of this, Demerdjian believes.
