Several different online services are struggling, including PlayStation Network, Steam and gaming Fortnite.
According to online reports, the PSN is one of several online gaming services currently experiencing network issues. There is still no explanation for the interruption.
On PlayStation Status page, the following is said:
“The PlayStation Network services are up and running, but there are general external Internet-related issues that could affect your experience. Once these external issues are resolved, you will have no difficulty connecting to the PlayStation Network.”
Update: according to the website The Verge, the problem is much bigger than imagined and there are banks and other essential services offline as well.
2nd Update: it appears that the services have been normalized and are back online.
