The Urban Transportation Authority (ATU) for Lima and Callao announced the implementation of an exclusive queue for women at Metropolitano stations to stop the sexual harassment that occurs on these buses.
The measures are taken after a report by El Comercio revealed the existence of Facebook groups in which subjects exchange advice on sexually harassing women on this public transport service. According to the report, the misfits committed these crimes during rush hour or taking advantage of crowds.

Therefore, ATU spokesperson Giovanna Yupanqui revealed that this plan will be implemented in the stations Ricardo Palma and Domingo Orué to evaluate the strategies to follow to eradicate harassment.
It was also announced that it is being evaluated to put cameras inside the buses and a panic button to alert about these cases so that there can be a quick response and sanction for the person responsible.
