Attorney General Reveals Waskita Beton Precast Corruption Loss Rp 2.5 T

attorney General’s Office (The Attorney General’s Office) named four people as suspects in the alleged case corruption use of PT Waskita Beton Precast funds in 2016-2020. Attorney General ST Burhanuddin revealed that the state’s financial loss in this case reached Rp 2.5 trillion.

Burhanuddin said the state losses were caused by unlawful acts or abuse of authority by carrying out fictitious procurements that occurred in 2016-2020. This is what makes the procurement can not be continued or stalled.

“2016-2020 has committed acts against the law or abused its authority by carrying out fictitious procurement, procurement of goods cannot be utilized or procurement cannot be followed up, meaning stalled,” said Burhanuddin.

To cover the stalled procurement, said Burhanuddin, PT Waskita Beton Precast made a fictitious procurement by borrowing the ‘flags’ of several companies. Later, the companies made a letter of ordering fictitious materials, borrowed a vendor’s flag or supplier to make a fictitious travel document.

“To cover that, PT Waskita Beton Precast conducts fictitious procurement by borrowing the flags of several companies by making fictitious material orders, borrowing vendor flags or supplierthen make a receipt for fictitious materials, then also make a travel document for fictitious goods,” he said.

4 People Become Suspects

The AGO has named four people as suspects in the alleged corruption case in the use of PT Waskita Beton Precast funds in 2016-2020. The suspects were immediately arrested.

“The Deputy Director of Investigations of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes has named four suspects related to the alleged corruption case, irregularities and or misappropriation in the use of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk funds from 2016 to 2020,” said the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) Attorney General’s Office Ketut Sumedana in a written statement, Tuesday (26/7).

Here are the four suspects:

1. Marketing Director of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk for the 2016-2020 period, Agus Wantoro
2. Marketing General Manager of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk for the period 2016-August 2020, Agus Prihatmono
3. Marketing Expert Staff (expert) PT Waskita Beton Precast, Benny Prastowo
4. Retired Employee of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk, Anugrianto

The suspects were detained for 20 days. Suspects Agus Wantoro and Benny Prastowo are being held at the Salemba Rutan at the Attorney General’s Office Branch. Meanwhile, Agus Prihatmono and Anugrianto are being held at the Class I Rutan, Central Jakarta, Salemba.

The suspects are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Ketut said, in this case, it was suspected that there had been irregularities that were not in accordance with the provisions in the use of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk’s funds in several activities. Among them:

1. The Kriyan Legundi Bunder and Manyar (KLBM) Toll Road construction project.
2. Work to produce Tetrapod from PT Semutama.
3. There is a procurement of split stones with the provider PT Misi Mulia Metrical (PT MMM).
4. Procurement of sand by partners on behalf of PT Mitra Usaha Rakyat (PT MUR).
5. That there is a problem with the sale and purchase of land for the Bojanegara plant, Serang.
