According to information from the CoE, the appeal of the Vinci – Mytilineos consortium against the TAIPED tender for the concession of the Attica Road was rejected.

The group submitted an offer of 3.27 billion. euros for the concession of the country’s largest urban highway, with a total length of 70 thousand. After the result of the competition in September 2023, a barrage of pre-trial and judicial appeals followed from the consortium Vinci – mytilineos, which had offered 3.106 billion euros
GEK TERNA Group
The acquisition of the Attica Road concession marks an extremely positive and multi-fold significant development, with numerous benefits for the Group and its shareholders as it doubles the value of GEK TERNA’s already expanded portfolio of concessions and further enhances the production of high, stable and predictable cash flows on a long-term basis. With this addition, GEK TERNA’s portfolio of similar concessions acquires the critical size for its optimal utilization within the group’s strategy.
It is a suburban road network and highway, with two or three traffic lanes and one emergency lane (LEA) in each direction. In some sections in the middle of the highway, in a specially designed area, the suburban railway runs, which is not part of the Attica Road concession contract.
Furthermore, the Attica Highway is the connecting link of the PATHE road axis (Patra – Athens – Thessaloniki – Evzoni), since it connects the Athens – Lamia National Road with the Athens – Corinth National Road, bypassing the center of Athens. The highway has controlled access and consists of two vertical, intersecting sections, the Elefsina-Stavros-Spaton Freeway, approximately 52 km long, and the Western Peripheral Ymittos Highway, approximately 13 km long.
Attiki Odos also includes a section of the Western Regional Avenue Aegaleo, approximately 5 km long.
