During the night from the west the clouds will increase and thicken. In Northwestern Bulgaria the wind will be oriented from west-northwest and will intensify. In the rest of the country, the wind will remain from the southwest. The minimum temperatures will be between 6 ° and 11 °, in Sofia around 7 °, NIMH announced.
A well-defined cold front will pass through the country on Sunday. Rainfall will start in the morning in Western Bulgaria, and by the end of the day in the rest of the country. Mainly in Central and Northeastern Bulgaria they will be intensive and significant in quantity. In some places there will be thunderstorms, small hail is not excluded.
In the afternoon in Northwestern Bulgaria the rains will temporarily stop. The wind throughout the country will be oriented from the northwest, in the eastern regions from the north and with it cold air will invade.
Temperatures will drop and by 2 pm will be from 8-10 ° in the high western fields and the Central Fore-Balkans, to 20-22 ° in Southeastern Bulgaria, where by noon the wind will still be from the southwest and there will be more sun, in Sofia about 9 °.
A yellow code in most parts of the country for strong winds, rains and thunder has been announced for Sunday. There are also conditions for hail.
In Western Bulgaria the wind speed will be about 60-70 kilometers per hour.
Short-term, temporarily intense rains with thunder and strong winds are expected over the South-Western regions.
The forecast is similar for Northeastern and Eastern Bulgaria, as well as areas from the South.
Orange code was announced in the districts of Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Smolyan and Kardzhali.
Short-lived but intense rains are expected there, accompanied by thunder and strong winds. It is possible that the amount of precipitation will reach 20-35 liters per square meter, and in mountainous areas – up to 30-50 liters per square meter.
In the high places in the mountains the precipitation will be first from rain and later from snow.
