Attending the G20 summit, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lands in Bali

TEMPO.CO, NUSA DUA – Canadian Prime Minister (PM) Justin Trudeau arrived in Bali on Monday, November 14, 2022 to attend the G20 summit. The VIP plane carrying Trudeau landed at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport at around 3:25pm WITA.

Trudeau landed shortly after Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Bali at around 3pm. The Canadian prime minister arrived in Bali after attending the ASEAN summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, which took place from November 10 to 13.

The heads of state and government of the G20 members are expected to land in Bali until Monday evening.

Several heads of state landed in Bali today, in addition to Trudeau and Xi Jinping, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also arrived today.

The Albanian prime minister via a verified Twitter account tweeted that he would hold meetings with Indonesia, China, France, India and the United Kingdom. “Leaders of the world’s major economies will meet at the G20 in Bali to find solutions to address common challenges,” he tweeted @AlboMP.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in Bali in the early hours of Monday. Indonesia will hold a bilateral meeting with Japan today.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden and President Yoon Suk Yeol have been in Bali since Sunday evening (11/13). President Joko Widodo and President Biden are also scheduled for a bilateral meeting today.

At least 17 heads of state and government will attend the 17th G20 Summit in Apurva, Kempinski Hotel, Bali.

The Indonesian presidency of the G20 takes the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger” with three main agendas, namely global health architecture, digital transformation and sustainable energy transition. The G20 is a strategic forum attended by the countries with the world’s largest economies.
