CHENNAI: An attempt was made to sabotage a train by placing rocks and the skull of a dead cow on the railway track in Parvathipuram area near Nagercoil. The Gandhidham Express train (20924) bound for Tirunelveli Junction was traveling near Parvathipuram section near Nagercoil when it suddenly hit stones and a loud noise was heard. After stopping the train, the loco pilot looked down and saw stones and the skull of a dead cow on the track.

The loco pilot informed the gate keeper on duty at the Parvathipuram railway crossing. Nagercoil Junction Railway Police was also informed about the incident. The gate keeper said that some people had passed this way on a two-wheeler a few minutes before the incident. Based on this, the police is investigating the CCTV footage of the area and investigating who the accused are.
