An attempted terrorist attack on a subway station near Times Square shocked the American metropolis of New York on Monday morning. A 27-year-old man who appeared to have immigrated from Bangladesh was carrying a homemade bomb when it exploded in a connecting corridor at the Port Authority bus terminal at the intersection of 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue at 7:30 am in the middle of the morning rush hour .
