According to human rights activists, before the suicide attempt, Latypov said that the Belarusian security forces forced him to admit his guilt. The political prisoner noted that the security forces threatened to prosecute his relatives.
“The GUBOP promised, if I do not admit my guilt, there will be criminal cases against my relatives and neighbors,” said Latypov, after which he attempted suicide.
According to Viasna’s information, Latypov is now alive. He was hospitalized and is planned to be injected into an artificial coma.
