Attempted Murder of Trapper Simba La Rue, 4 Rivals Sentenced

(ANSA) – BERGAMO, SEPTEMBER 20 – The trial relating to the ambush on June 16, 2022 of the trapper Simba La Rue, aka Mohamed Lamine Saida, who was beaten and stabbed outside the house of his then girlfriend, in Treviolo, as part of a feud between trappers orchestrated by rival Baby Touché to avenge a beating he had suffered a few days earlier (for which La Rue had already been sentenced on appeal in Milan to three years, 9 months and 10 days) ended with four convictions for attempted murder today in court in Bergamo. Today, the preliminary hearing judge of Bergamo, Riccardo Moreschi, ratified the plea bargain of 5 years for Samir Benksar, 21, believed to be the instigator of the punitive expedition, while Youness Fouad, 31, and Francesco Menghetti, 25, accused of having attacked Simba La Rue with a knife, were sentenced in a summary trial to 7 years, and Moaad Amagour, 25 and brother of Baby Touché, present at the raid but without weapons, was sentenced to 6 years, also in a summary trial. For these last three defendants, the prosecutor Emma Vittorio had asked for 8 years each, while the defense had asked for the crime to be downgraded to injuries. All were placed under house arrest.
