The police later found the man involved in the case hanged by a belt in the locker room of the clubhouse of the housing estate, and sent him to the hospital where he was certified dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had tried to cover her daughter’s head with a plastic bag in the unit before hanging herself, and suspected that she had hit her daughter’s chest with her hands. Police seized a plastic bag, a belt and a suicide note at the scene, suspected to be related to the case, and classified the case as attempted murder and suicide. The Crime Squad of Tuen Mun District is investigating the case, and an autopsy will be arranged later to determine the cause of death of the deceased.
