The video shows a man kidnapping a woman who is walking viral on social media. The man and woman turned out to know each other and had been dating.
Reported by detikSumut, in the video you can see a woman walking on the side of the road. Then came a car unit approached him.
The car then stopped, and a man got out of the car. The man is seen approaching a woman who is walking, then picks her up to be brought into the car.
After the woman was put inside, the car sped forward. At the dead end of the street, the car tried to turn around.
Knowing that a woman had been forcibly taken into a car, local residents immediately came to the location. The narration in the video explains that the kidnapping action was thwarted by residents.
The Lubuk Begalung Police Chief, Kompol Mochammad Rosidi said that the attempted kidnapping incident was the second time that a woman with the initials SR (26) had received her attention. The first action was carried out by the perpetrators in December 2022 in Pariaman City. However, the case was resolved amicably.
“Yes, twice. The victim was rescued by his sister. He was kidnapped. While in the car, he could call his sister and ask for help via cellphone. So he was intercepted by his sister on the road,” Rosidi told reporters, Wednesday (16/6/2023) .
The second kidnapping attempt took place at Urban Housing 8, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City, last Monday (12/6/2023) whose video was widely circulated on social media. At that time, the victim was walking alone, the perpetrator immediately carried the victim and forced him into the car.
“The exact motive (of the kidnapping) is not known. What is clear is that they broke up, were asked to return, were not accepted, then kidnapped. They have been in a relationship for a year,” he explained.
