Attempt to reconcile trade unions and management of Brussels Airlines fails, chance of strike during summer exodus grows

The unions are now discussing with cabin crew whether there will actually be a strike. “We are still reaching out to the management of Brussels Airlines to possibly come up with a solution,” says Olivier Van Camp of the socialist employees’ union BBTK.

“We don’t want to take the passenger hostage, we want to force the management into negotiations, which they still haven’t done since last year,” says Van Camp.

There may be a meeting between the pilots and the management this week, although that has not yet been planned. There is not only a problem with the work schedules for the pilots, but there are also financial requirements. If the flight crew of Brussels Airlines will stop working, it will probably have a major impact on the summer exodus.
