In two years, Wejdene has become one of the biggest record sellers in France. Revealed to the general public thanks to its tube Anissareleased in 2020, the singer has since chained singles, concerts and even participated in season 11 of Dance with the stars. But fame doesn’t only have good sides. Asked by Provence last April, the young 18-year-old artist confided that she was “anxious” at the thought of leaving her house alone. “Not everyone can handle fame. It’s very complicated, you have to be mentally strong. It’s a changing lifestyle, you have to be ready to make sacrifices. Do my shopping, go out with my family , it’s a big mission every time. When I go out alone in the street, I’m always anxious. I don’t like being recognized when I’m home, I find it dangerous.”
Wejdene responds to his critics on social networks
Since rising to prominence, Wejdene has also faced a lot of criticism on social media. While she is currently shooting her next clip, the young woman is the target of several attacks on her physique on Twitter. Enough to make her one of the most commented on topics on the social network since the start of the weekend. At the end, the singer took to her Instagram story to utter a huge rant. “This morning, I wake up and I see that you are not done criticizing me, talking about my physique, my music, and everything that makes me the person I am”she begins, before justifying herself on her posture considered too arched or even on her skin color. “I did gymnastics for 7 years so yes I am arched, I do not do it on purpose and yes I have scoliosis which does not help things. You are doctors to deduce that it is not that My skin color, maybe you want me to show you my family tree? Since we have to show you everything.”
“You just follow fashion, you have no personal opinion”
Today, Wejdene asks his detractors to stop commenting on his every move on social networks. “Stop scrutinizing my life if only to bring me negativity. It’s been three years since I said anything. You just follow fashion, you have no personal opinion. As soon as someone speaks ill of me, everyone follows. So go find a job, I don’t know, than stay behind your screen talking about me”, she continues. And to conclude: “Networking isn’t real life. Stop getting attached to it! That’s it for me. This is the last time I’ll speak up for nonsense like that.”
