Attacked by the Swedish Hockey Legend, Ibrahimovic Reply

Jakarta

Zlatan Ibrahimovic engages in a war of words with Swedish hockey legend, Borje Salming. What are these two sides saying?

Ibrahimovic has returned to Swedish national football team, after five years ago declared retirement. The return of the 39-year-old striker seems to be frowned upon by Salming.

He emphasized that Ibrahimovic must respect others, there is also a statement that in life not everything can be achieved.

“I want to make it clear, I respect Zlatan for what he does. This is extraordinary, especially at his age,” Salming told Aftonbladet.

“However, I don’t like his style, his gestures and what he says when he doesn’t achieve what he wants. You can’t always get what you want, and when that happens, you have to respect other people,” he continued.

“I have asked myself why he did that so many times. He can’t do whatever he wants just because he is a better player than the others,” he stressed.

Ibrahimovic replied to a statement from Salming after successfully helping Sweden beat Kosovo 3-0 in the 2022 World Cup Qualification. Ibra during the event has not scored a goal, but contributed two assists.

“In Sweden they always attack me whatever I do. In Italy it’s not like that, I am freer. Just because I move my hands on the pitch, it is not true that I am negative, I criticize,” said Ibrahimovic as quoted by Corriere Della Sera.

“For me it’s a way of appreciating what my team-mates do. He doesn’t know me and so it’s best to shut up. Just because you move your hand doesn’t mean you’re negative,” he continued.

“My attitude is positive, so think for yourself, because I will think in my own way. Even if he sets a record, it does not mean he is doing the right thing,” the AC Milan striker confirmed.
