Attack on the Moscarella clan: 11 arrests

The State Police, upon order of the judiciary, carried out an order applying precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Napoliat the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against eleven people (of which 9 subjected to custody in prison, 1 to house arrest, 1 to the obligation to report to the judicial police) considered seriously suspected, in various capacities, of the crimes of mafia-type association as well as of extortion, attempted extortion, possession of weapons and possession for the purpose of drug traffickingaggravated by the mafia method and the aim of facilitating the Camorra association called the Rione Moscarella clan, operating in the municipalities of Castellammare di Stabia, Pompeii, St. Antonio Abate and surrounding areas. In particular, during the investigations carried out by the SISCO of Naples and the SCO, with the operational support of the Flying Squad of Naples, various extortion episodes were identified, carried out to the detriment of some commercial operators. Furthermore, one of the suspects, although detained, maintained telephone contact with his accomplices in order to plan and direct the extortion activities.
