Nasrallah’s comments in a televised speech were the first since the ceasefire ended the heaviest fighting in years between Israel and Hamas fighters in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli-Hamas hostilities began on May 10 after Israeli police provocations at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem’s Old City and clashes with Palestinians during the holy month of Ramadan.

“When a holy site is facing a serious threat, there is no red line. All resistance movements cannot stand still and see if the holy site is in danger,” Nasrallah said.

The Iranian-backed Lebanese group are staunch opponents of Israel.

Nasrallah’s speech marked the anniversary of Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000.
Nasrallah also said the fighting showed Hamas had increased its rocket capabilities, which he said was a major military achievement.
“They have the ability to launch rockets for 11 days and they can continue,” he said.
