Attack on a mobile of C5N journalists in the Obelisk flag against the Government

In the midst of the national flag against the Government, in demand of “freedom and Justice” and within the framework of Independence Day, a group of protesters who marched in the Obelisco attacked the mobile of journalists on the channel C5N and forced them to withdraw from the site.

There were also protesters who repudiated the aggression and they asked the violent ones to stop and change their posture.


According to those who were there, other journalists from different news channels generated a kind of human cordon to allow those attacked to avoid being beaten and leave the place.

Lautaro Maislin, chronicler of the channel that broadcast live from the area, said that the attack began when one of the protesters hit the truck: “From that moment on, the rest became infected with that violence and we had to leave.”

Then he added: “They spit on us, they hit us with bottles and pineapples. Luckily physically we are fine,” he said outside the venue.

Minutes later from the Ministry of Justice and Security reported that ex officio actions were initiated by the Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, Contravencional and Fouls N14 by Dr. Paulo Gaspani.

A survey of cameras and the work of the brigades that were in place was requested to see if the attackers can be identified: “Two summaries are already open: one for damage to the vehicle of C5N channel and the other for injuries to two journalists.”

About the attack both the Argentine Journalism Forum (FOPEA) and the Association of Argentine Journalistic Entities (ADEPA) They repudiated what happened and expressed their solidarity with the communicators.


“We repudiate the attacks and threats against the @ C5N journalistic team that covered the event this afternoon at the Obelisk. A group of protesters attacked journalists and hit the channel’s mobile phone while it was broadcasting live, “ADEPA said.

Meanwhile, FOPEA protested to the authorities that “guarantee the professional practice of journalism and safeguard the integrity of colleagues“.

The cacerolazo was called by social networks and took place across the country. Basically the claim is aimed at the measures of Alberto Fernández, the release of Lázaro Báez and Kirchner corruption.

In front of the Obelisk, those who complained about the Plaza de la República and those who did so with their cars, honking their horns, mingled. “Here we are serial haters”, read one of the posters, referring to the message of President Alberto Fernández from Olivos, in the framework of the act for Independence Day.

There also the protesters installed an inflatable figure of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner dressed as prey and they also marched with Argentine flags and some slogans against quarantine and “impunity”: “We are not confused, we want the Republic”, “Gestapo = KGB”, “Enough controls and permits”, “Complicit justice”some of the posters said.
