ATP Miami: Novak Djokovic will return to the courts at the Miami Masters 1000

The Serbian world No.1 has confirmed his participation in the Florida tournament on his website. Djokovic won his 9th Australian Open last month but suffered a torn abdominal muscle from round 3.

That didn’t stop him from winning the tournament, his 18th Grand Slam title. Djokovic is guaranteed to become the sole holder of a weeks record at the top of the world rankings set by ATP. Since March 1, with 310 weeks, he shares the record with Roger Federer. On Monday, he will enter his 311th week on the throne.

Djokovic has posted his schedule for the next few weeks online. After Miami, where he won six times (2007, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016), he will play the Masters 1000 on clay courts in Monte-Carlo (April 11-18), where he won the final in 2013 and 2015, then the Serbian Open (ATP 250, April 19-25).

The ATP Tour returns to the Serbian capital for the first time since 2012. Djokovic will play on this occasion in his personal training center whose surface is clay. Belgrade, where “Nole” won in 2009 and 2011, replaces the Budapest tournament in the calendar.
