Men’s tennis is in a process of change and that causes unexpected situations that can have a much greater impact than expected. An example of this is the subtle change in the distribution of points made by the ATP Challenger Tour with a view to 2024, consisting of a reduction in total points, except in the case of the champion, who will continue to receive the same. It is something that applies to all categories of Challenger tournaments and has the counterpart that the points distributed in ATP 250 events will be increased, something that will be announced soon. The consequence can be lethal for players ranked between 101 and 300, who will now have a harder time moving up positions and getting into the desired top-100.
