Atomic Heart is an upcoming first-person shooter game from Mundfish to be published by Focus Entertainment. It received an age rating in Taiwan and in Singapore, where an evaluation board detailed its adult content and rated it as M18 for gore and gore.
Atomic Heart is an action RPG set in an alternate reality of the post-war Soviet Union. The citizens live in a utopian world of advanced technology, but the machines and robots have suddenly risen in violent rebellion. Mutant creatures have appeared, created as a result of secret experiments, to attack the population. The player takes on the role of the main character, Major P-3, who is sent in search of a saboteur. The player controls the P-3 from a first-person perspective to explore locations, communicate with other characters, and battle enemies consisting of creatures, robots, and machines. P-3 is accompanied by an AI assistant built into his combat glove and will use the glove’s special abilities as well as blades and ranged weapons in combat. As the game progresses, the collected items allow the player to restore health and upgrade his weapons and abilities. Some locations require the player to solve puzzles to unlock progress.
Often there are images of violence and bloodshed. After hitting characters, large splatters of blood can be seen, leaving bloodstains on surfaces. Humanoid characters are often dismembered or decapitated during gameplay. While exploring, bloody surfaces and corpses can often be seen in the environment. Other eerie scenes feature a character cut in half by a laser beam and a sequence depicting a decapitated human head placed in a glass container. Dialogue in the game contains some sexual innuendo, as well as the use of profanities and rude words such as “f**k”, “b**ch”, and “s**t”. The player may encounter life-size sex dolls and female corpses clad only in lingerie, as well as naked human characters in glass chambers, with no obvious details of nudity.
Even though the game is quite violent as per its description, it does not contain any sexual content. The dialogue includes some sexual innuendos and expletives.
Atomic Heart will be released on February 21, 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
