Suicide prevents Marienbrücke closed

A 49-year-old man threatened to throw himself off the Marienbrücke on Friday morning. After about half an hour, the police and fire brigade managed to dissuade him from his plan. The Marienbrücke had to be closed during the operation. (uh)

Broken windows on several cars

On Friday night, windows were smashed into three cars in downtown Dresden.
The driver (34) of a VW Golf informed the police this morning that the side window on the driver’s side of his car parked on Kreuzstrasse was broken. According to current knowledge, nothing has been stolen.
Shortly afterwards, the police learned that the passenger door of a VW Golf parked on Circus Street had been smashed. According to previous knowledge, strangers took a wallet from the car. The property damage is around 350 euros.
A little later, a witness informed the police that a side window had been smashed into a Peugeot on Marienstraße. According to current investigations, strangers stole a bag from the car. The total damage is around 400 euros.
Whether the incidents are related is currently being examined. (rr)
Wall with graffiti sprayed state security investigated

Strangers smeared graffiti on a wall on Boltenhagener Strasse.
The perpetrators sprayed an existing graffiti with five lettering about 1.30 meters long. The choice of words in connection with the existing graffiti suggests a xenophobic background. The state security has taken over the investigation. (lr)

Fire in the boiler room of the house is no longer habitable

A fire broke out in a house on Weinbergsweg early on Thursday afternoon.
For unknown reasons, a fire started in a boiler room, which damaged the system. Due to the smoke pollution, the house was no longer habitable, and a 60-year-old had to go to hospital with suspected smoke poisoning. The property damage is not yet known. The police have opened an investigation into the cause of fire. (lr)

ATM blown up

Last night, strangers blew up an ATM in a Sparkasse branch on Hühndorfer Strasse. The perpetrators fled with an unknown amount of cash.
According to previous investigations, the perpetrators led gas into the machine and set it on fire. The device was completely destroyed.
The perpetrators then fled in an Audi RS 6 Avant on the motorway in the direction of Leipzig. Shortly after the Nossen triangle, they left the vehicle on the A 14. It was later found burned out by police officers. Whether it is a stolen vehicle has yet to be clarified.
As part of the search and a witness reference, police officers searched a ruinous three-sided courtyard in the Starbach district of Nossen. At the same time, a police helicopter was used. The perpetrators have not yet been found. The manhunt continues.

Accidents under the influence of alcohol

Early on Friday morning, a 55-year-old man caused at least two accidents and injured himself in a Nissan Navara. Apparently he was under the influence of alcohol.
The Nissan was initially in Golk on the Gosebach road. He came off the road to the left and hit a power pole, which broke off and came to rest on the street. As a result, the car collided with a fence and a tree, which also broke off. The 55-year-old continued his journey without permission.
In Zadel he drove on the ravine in the direction of Kirchstrasse and also left the street, drove into a hedge and subsequently hit a property wall and a gate. The driver was injured in the process. The car was no longer ready to drive.
Alerted police officers discovered a strong alcohol odor in the 55-year-old German. A breath alcohol test was not possible. They ordered a blood sample and obtained a driver’s license. The driver is now being investigated for endangering road traffic and for escaping from an accident.
In total, the accidents resulted in damage of over 30,000 euros. Whether further damage was caused on the route is part of the investigation. (lr)
Transporter stolen 25,000 euros damage

Strangers stole a van from Bahnhofstrasse on Friday night.
The 52-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter converted into a package car noticed the theft early in the morning. The value of the vehicle registered for the first time in 2017 is given as 25,000 euros. (uh)
Fraudsters arrested witnesses wanted

In the parking lot of a supermarket on Radeburger Strasse, police officers from Großenhain arrested two men (20, 31) yesterday afternoon who were fraudulently collecting money.
The two Romanians pretended to collect for a charitable cause and asked passers-by for donations. However, the collection lists presented were drawn up themselves and the two were not commissioned by a non-profit organization. The money and the lists were secured and the fraud complaint was made.
The police are investigating and looking for witnesses who can provide information about the collections or have donated money themselves. Witnesses who noticed the collection at other crime scenes are also asked to contact the Dresden Police Department on (0351) 483 22 33 or the Großenhain police station. (lr)

Pedestrian hit by truck and seriously injured

On Thursday afternoon, a woman (78) was injured in an accident on Robert-Schumann-Platz.
The driver (57) of a Mercedes truck was on the Robert-Schumann-Platz and wanted to turn left into Franz-Schubert-Straße. He stopped first to let a car out of the narrow Franz-Schubert-Strasse. When this car drove by, it started again. He captured the 78-year-old, who apparently wanted to cross the street at the same time. She was taken to a hospital seriously injured. Accident with a tractor More than 4,000 euros in damage

On Thursday morning, a tractor and a Suzuki Ignis collided on the main road.

Accidents involving wildlife Two deer fatally injured

On Thursday there were two accidents with wildlife in the Sebnitz area.
On Thursday night, a Ford Focus collided with a deer on Dresdner Strasse in Dürrröhrsdorf-Dittersbach in the Wilschdorf district. The driver (31) was heading towards Dresden when the deer crossed the lane and was hit by the Ford. The animal was fatally injured and the car suffered damage that has not yet been quantified.
Late in the evening, an Opel Combo collided on Tannertstrasse in Sebnitz with a deer that was about to cross the street in front of the car. This animal also succumbed to its injuries. The damage to the Opel has not yet been quantified. (lr)
