Atletico Madrid Vs Manchester United and Benfica Vs Ajax has been played in the first leg of the 2021/2022 Champions League last 16. Here are the full results.
At the Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid, Thursday (24/2/2022) early morning WIB, Atletico Madrid who hosted the Red Devils managed to take the lead first.
Joao Felix’s goal in the seventh minute of the match saw Los Colchoneros enter half time with a 1-0 advantage. But Manchester United can reply in the second half.
Ralf Rangnick as the interim manager of MU made a number of substitutions in the second half. One of them was to enter Anthony Elanga who then scored the equalizer after five minutes on the field.
Atlético vs. MU ended with the score 1-1. The second leg will be played at Old Trafford in mid-March.
Meanwhile, another match at the Estádio da Luz, Lisbon, saw four goals when Benfica and Ajax reciprocated goals.
Ajax Dusan Tadic took the lead first, but Sebastian Haller’s own goal then allowed Benfica to equalize the score.
A few minutes later, Haller made amends to put Ajax back ahead in the first half. This match brought one more goal in the second half through Roman Yaremchuk to end 2-2.
