After three consecutive games without any victory, Atlético de Madrid kicked off the crisis by winning 2-1 at home to Betis, in a game counting for the 27th round of the Spanish league.
The Portuguese Rui Silva and William Carvalho were used and were present in some of the decisive moments. From the outset, the Portuguese goalkeeper started in the Verdiblancos’ goal and scored an own goal in the eighth minute, following a move in which the ball bounced off three Betis players.
Just before half an hour, Rui Silva committed a penalty when he brought down Álvaro Morata in the area. However, on the kick, the Spanish forward allowed the Portuguese goalkeeper to save.
Morata, however, would score and put an end to the eight-game drought. After an incomplete save by Rui Silva, in the 44th minute, the Spanish striker scored the goal.
