Regardless of what Liga MX determines after the investigation it carries out against it, Peruvian defender Anderson Santamaría already has a financial sanction from his club. The Atlas announced this Saturday the punishment against his footballer, after a video was released in which he appears at a party in the middle of a pandemic, regardless of the sanitary protocols that are required of footballers.
“By failing to comply with the health regulations and protocols, both of our institution and of Liga MX, The Atlas FC board of directors determined that the player Anderson Santamaría will be separated from the Rojinegro squad until he complies with a formal isolation and present a PCR test with a negative result, this in consequence of holding a meeting after our match against Club Santos Laguna for Day 5 of Guard1anes 2021 ”, explained the club.
“In addition to the above, the central defender will be entitled to a financial fine in accordance with the club’s internal regulations. At Atlas FC we will continue to be committed to fully complying with the health regulations established in our entity and in Liga MX ”, concluded the rojinegro team.
Anderson Santamaría will have to remain 10 days separated from the campus and you will be allowed to return only by presenting a negative COVID-19 test. In addition to the sanction of his team, the MX League investigates his case and according to the new regulations, he may be entitled to a fine of up to 100,000 pesos.
