Atlanta with Miranchuk in the lineup lost to Orlando in the quarterfinals of the MLS playoffs

Washington, November 25. / TASS/. Atlanta lost 0-1 to Orlando in the quarterfinals of the Major League Soccer (MLS) playoffs. The only goal in the 39th minute was scored by Ramiro Enrique.

Atlanta’s Russian midfielder Alexey Miranchuk entered the field in the starting lineup and played the full 90 minutes. The Russian moved to the American club in July from Italian Atalanta, signing a contract until 2027. The footballer spent 14 matches for Atlanta, in which he scored 3 goals and gave 4 assists.

In the quarterfinal stage, the teams play a match with each other. In the previous stage, in the round of 16, the clubs had to beat their opponent twice. Atlanta turned out to be stronger than the winner of the regular season Inter Miami (2-1 in the series), Orlando eliminated Charlotte (2-1). The New York Red Bulls and Seattle have qualified for the semifinals, then the Los Angeles Galaxy and Minnesota will play their match.

At the end of the regular season, Orlando finished fourth in the Eastern Conference standings, Atlanta in ninth place. In the playoffs, Atlanta arrived thanks to the victory of the play-off round, in which it beat Montreal, which finished eighth (2:2, 5:4 after penalties).

The current MLS winner is Columbus. In the final of the last draw, the team beat Los Angeles 2-1.
