In a comeback this Thursday afternoon, forward Ferreira will no longer go to North American football and will stay at Grêmio. The player’s staff has stated that Atlanta United will not pay the athlete’s fine. At this moment, a meeting takes place at the Arena between the player’s manager, Pablo Bueno, and the club’s management to address the issue. The meeting should lead to Ferreira’s renewal until 2024. The striker’s new contract should also provide for a fine of 20 million euros.
A player exit information appeared on Tuesday, during the match against the Vitória, for the Copa do Brasil. The American club needed to make payment until today to release the documentation and registration, something that should not happen. According to reporter Rafael Pfeiffer, from Rádio Guaíba, Grêmio has not yet been officially informed of the withdrawal of the American club. However, people connected to the direction of the club already have the information.

Atlanta United would have to pay the termination penalty for the player’s release. Grêmio would receive the sum of 4 million euros, as it has only 50% of the athlete’s pass. Initially, it was disclosed that the value would be 8 million, but the amount was corrected.
Meeting that takes place at Arena discusses the renewal of Ferreira’s contract. The idea is to renew by the end of 2024 and the rescission will reach around 20 million euros.@FootballGuaiba

Ferreira’s departure was practically certain since there was no agreement for the renewal. Before the possible departure for Atlanta United, he was close to a loan with Al Ain. The Grêmio management, however, refused the proposal.
After the match against Vitória for the Copa do Brasil, Felipão did not hide his dissatisfaction with the situation. When questioned, he claimed not to know about the transfer. He also stated that the player did not appear at the Training Center to treat the injury that has kept him from playing since the classic Gre-Nal.
Ferreira has been a Grêmio player since 2017, but began to gain ground in 2019. The athlete played 74 games with the Tricolor shirt, and scored 16 times. This season, there were 30 matches, and 11 goals scored.
