- atlanta 103 – 96 philadelphie
Atlanta wins series 4 3.
After missing the opportunity to qualify in the previous game, the Atlanta Hawks moved to the Sixers floor for one last game, life and death. This Game 7 will have been stifling from start to finish. During four quarters, the two teams fought a fierce battle, the gap never climbing above 10 points. With less than seven minutes left to play, the Sixers end up taking two possessions in advance (84 80), the public at the Wells Fargo Center begins to believe it but Atlanta has not said its last word. Nate McMillan’s players return and take advantage of the locals’ flexibility to come back in front. The end of the game is a disaster for Philadelphia between unnecessary fouls and loss of balls. In the last minute, Kevin Huerter made three precious throws and it was over for the Sixers. The Hawks win a third away in this series and advance to the Conference Finals where they will meet the Milwaukee Bucks.
Trae Young did not have the usual return. The Hawks leader finished with 21 points, but 5/23 on shots. He adds 10 assists and 3 rebounds to this stat line. Fortunately, he was able to count on a Kevin Huerter of great evenings. Author of a 10/18 on shots, Huerter finished with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 1 interception. John Collins is delivering a solid performance in the racket with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Finally Danilo Gallinari brings out of the bench with his 17 units. On the side of the Sixers, Joel Embiid once again finished his team’s top scorer. On the floor for 41 minutes, the Cameroonian finished with 31 points, 3 assists and 11 rebounds. Tobias Harris is not left out either with his 24 points and 14 rebounds. The big black spot on this match, even on the series, remains the contribution of Ben Simmons. The leader of Philly finished with 5 points (4 shots taken), 13 assists and 8 rebounds. He will not have taken any shot in the last quarter …
After this victory, Atlanta is therefore in the Conference Final for only the second time in its history. What a performance for Nate McMillan and his players whose future looks bright! On the other hand, the summer promises to be tumultuous on the side of Philadelphia …
- phoenix 120 – 114 l.a Clippers
Phoenix leads 1 win 0 in the series.
Only 48 hours after their qualification against Utah, the Clippers are on the bridge in the Phoenix Suns Arena to play the first game of their history in a Conference Final. In this series, one absent of mark on each side. Kawhi Leonard for the Clippers, Chris Paul for the Suns. The two teams will deliver us a magnificent score that promises us great battles in the next matches of the series. It is only in the last quarter that the Suns will make the difference. In the space of two minutes, Devin Booker and his gang will make the decisive effort that will allow them to get their hands on this game. Los Angeles will fight to the end, but Tyronn Lue is forced to surrender. The first round of this Conference Final is for the Suns: 120,114. Yet deprived of their mastery to play, the players of Monty Williams were collectively impressive. Worn by their audience (16,583 people present), Phoenix sends a message to the Clippers.
On the floor, the players enjoyed us for 48 minutes. First playoffs, first Conference final and first career triple-double for Devin Booker! The Suns franchise player was sparkling. He finished with 40 points 15/29 on shots, 11 assists and 13 rebounds. Around him, the supporting cast also shines with 13 points for Jae Crowder, 14 points for Mikal Bridges, 11 points for Cameron Payne and 12 points for Cameron Johnson. DeAndre Ayton continues to regale in painting, regardless of the interior in front of him. Author of 20 points and 9 rebounds, the pivot finished second best scorer of his team. Faced with such a collective strike force, the Clippers were unable to adapt in Game 1. Paul George finished with 34 points while Reggie Jackson planted 24. If the supporting cast was brilliant, it was not. frankly the case with the Clippers. The absence of Kawhi Leonard is likely to weigh heavily especially when we know that Chris Paul should return to him shortly .. See you in Game 2!
