Atlanta Braves win third game of the World Series and are now 2-1

Gerardo lemos

The Atlanta Braves have won Game 3 of the world series in Atlanta 2-0 at Truist Park to lead the seven-game series 2-1.

Austin Riley had an RBI double in the bottom of the third inning and Travis d’Arnaud hit a solo home run, giving the city of Atlanta a magical night, which was hosting the World Series after a 22-year absence from the Braves.

The Braves’ five-pitching rotation was enough to knock out the Houston Astros tonight in the city of Atlanta.

Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson made history in Game 3 of the World Series, becoming the second rookie to pitch in at least five innings of his opponent’s no-hitter in a World Series. The first time it happened, it was in 1912 courtesy of Jeff Tesreau.

The only no-hitter thrown in a World Series game was when the New York Yankees’ Don Larsen pitched a perfect game against the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1956.

The Astros will attempt to even the series in Game 4 on Saturday night at Truist Park.
