The combined absences of Clint Capela and Trae Young did not disturb the Hawks. Atlanta defeated Miami 118-103 on Friday to pick up a 10th win in their last 13 games.
Victim of a contusion to the back, Clint Capela thus missed his eighth game of the season on injury, he who runs at 19.9 points and 16.7 rebounds on average since the beginning of April. The duration of the unavailability of the best rebounder in the NBA is not known.
The Hawks have for once not suffered from his absence under the panels. Bogdan Bogdanovic (21 points), John Collins (20), Danilo Gallinari (17) and Brandon Goodwin (17) for their part managed to forget that of their leading scorer Trae Young, injured in an ankle two days earlier in a game lost to the Knicks.
Atlanta took full advantage of the defensive wanderings of the Heat, which also managed only three shots – free throws except – during the fourth quarter. The Hawks now have a record of 33 wins for 27 losses, the same as the New York Knicks, 4th in the Eastern Conference.
