Athletics: The world champion of the 100 m could be suspended – News Sports: Other

The star of the sprint american Christian Coleman, world champion in the 100 metres in Doha last year, announced Tuesday on Twitter to have failed a doping control in December, which could earn him a suspension.

Coleman, who has narrowly avoided a suspension last year after three violations of the rules of localization, is said to have tried in vain to challenge the last six months of the offence, on 9 December by the integrity Unit of the athletics (IAU), an organ of the international Federation responsible for the fight against doping.

“And now, it could lead to my suspension,” said Coleman, who has released on the social network, a screenshot of its official notification for the instance of the test failed.

If the infringement was confirmed, Coleman is exposed to the part of the international Federation of track and field suspension of up to two years. Which would deprive him of the Tokyo olympic Games next year.

A suspension of two years?

The athlete, 24 years of age, after three breaches of the obligations of localization in months of a year, had escaped in September and was able to align to Doha, there to be crowned champion of the world on the right line.

The offences Coleman had been recorded on June 6, 2018 January 16, 2019 and on April 26, 2019.

However, the U.s. had successfully argued that the first case failed would have had to be backdated to the first day of the corresponding quarter (April 1, 2018), which placed the three breaches over a longer period than the 12 months required.

Now, with this new breach of the rules governing the location noted in the 9 December, combined with those of January and April 2019, Coleman finds himself again in delicacy with the regulations.

Under the rules of the world anti-doping Agency, three filing failures accumulated in a 12-month period is considered a doping violation punishable by a suspension of two years.
