Frederik Pilarski has achieved his personal goal: At the 31st itelligence City Run in Dresden, the young triathlete from SC Neubrandenburg improved his best time over 10 kilometers by almost one minute to 32:55 minutes. “This is a top time for Frederik,” said coach Frank Heimerdinger.

The event in the Great Garden in Dresden was held as a pure elite run and under strict hygiene rules. Athletes, coaches and supervisors had to undergo corona tests, among other things. Spectators were not allowed. The 19-year-old Pilarski slipped into the field at short notice after his trainer sought contact with the organizer. He wanted competitive practice for his athletes. Pilarski’s club colleague Till Kramp was also planning to start, but he had to cancel. “It was an honor for us to be able to run here,” said Heimerdinger.

The German Katharina Steinruck was the fastest woman

The fastest times over 10 kilometers were the German Katharina Steinruck in the women (31:59) and the Dutch Richard Douma (28:55) in the men. Steinruck, who wants to run the Hamburg marathon in three weeks, improved her personal best by 17 seconds. “I’m super, super satisfied,” she said on MDR. With the strong wind, the conditions were not ideal.

A total of 180 participants took part. The program in Dresden also included a half marathon and a marathon.
