American Fred Kerley, Olympic 100m vice-champion, got the better of his compatriot Kenneth Bednarek, Olympic vice-champion in the 200 m, on Saturday on the half-lap of the Paris meeting.

Kerley improved his personal best to win the 200m in 19 sec 79 (+1.6 m / s of wind) for 5 thousandths of a second ahead of Bednarek (also 19.79).

Kerley, 26, is a former 400m specialist (bronze medalist at the Doha Worlds in 2019) who has successfully completed a short sprint this season, making him one of the most complete sprinters in history with records at 9sec 84 (100m), 19sec 79 (200m) and 43sec 64 (400m).

The only committed Frenchman, Mouhamadou Fall took 8th place in 20 sec 46.
