Athletics – Meeting de Miramas: Martinot-Lagarde and Belocian already in shape

ATHLETICS – This is the first big indoor event of the year. This Friday evening, Miramas (Bouches-du-Rhône) is hosting an indoor meeting with some of the best French athletes. But not only. Indeed, the Burkinabé Hugues Fabrice Zango, recent holder of the indoor world record for triple jump, will be there. We are also waiting for the promising duel between Wilhem Belocian and Pascal Martinot Lagarde, over the hurdles.

For health reasons, the second edition of meeting de Miramas will take place behind closed doors. Still, that shouldn’t stop the show on the track. In the men’s 60-meter hurdles, we can’t wait to find the two French headliners. Pascal Martinot-Lagarde (29 years old) and Wilhem Belocian (25 years old) will make their comeback face to face this evening. In women, we find the young nugget of 20 years, Cyréna Samba-Mayela, which came to light last season.

On the straight line without obstacle, the field will also be well stocked. Over 60 m, on the ladies’ side, Carole Zahi (26 years), Cynthia Leduc (23 years), Orlane Ombissa-Dzangue (29 years old) and Stella Akakpo (26 years old) will be present. They all have a personal best of less than 7 seconds 25 hundredths. At men’s, Ryan Zézé (22 years old) and Amaury Golitin (23 years old) will be present in particular, they who have a record below 6”65.

A new record for Zango?

In addition to the sprint and hurdles events, the Miramas meeting hosts several other disciplines. On the middle distance, we will pay attention to the men’s 1500m, in which Djilali Bedrani (27 years old) will compete. Over 3000 m, also in men, the marathoner will be present Hassan Chahdi (31 years). The meeting will also host events of 200m and 400m (men), 800m and 3000m (women), length (M and F), height (M), weight (mixed) and disabled weight ( mixed).

Of course, we are not forgetting the men’s triple jump which will attract a lot of attention. The reason ? The presence of the brand new world record holder in the indoor discipline. Indeed, the Burkinabé Hugues Fabrice Zango (27) managed to take the mark to 18.07 meters last weekend in Aubière. The athlete, trained by Teddy Tamgho (former record holder), will try to go even further this Friday. He will notably be accompanied by Jean-Marc Pontvianne (26 years old) and Melvin Raffin (22 years old).
