The management of Athletico Paranaense was contacted by the Brazilian press following the news that pointed out goalkeeper Bento, 24 years old, 1.90 meters and 85 kilos, to the interest of Benfica, a name that, as A BOLA reported, is one of those on the list of Clube da Luz to reinforce the fight for ownership of the red goal.
Bento’s transfer is valued at around 7 million euros and the contract with Athletico Paranaense is valid until December 2026. The player’s contract includes a release clause for abroad worth 60 million euros.
According to GloboEsporte, both those responsible for the Brazilian club and the staff members close to the goalkeeper denied that there had been any contact with the club in that regard. The club, however, is available to negotiate and expects speculation around the goalkeeper to increase with the effervescence of the European transfer window.
Athletico Paranaense’s ambition is to make the biggest ever transfer of a Brazilian goalkeeper to Europe, surpassing the €5m Roma paid for half of Allisson’s transfer.
