A week before the transfer window closed, Athletic Club made its first addition in the form of Adama Boiro. The announcement was published in unusual circumstances, during the break of an important match against FC Barcelona.

21-year-old Adama Boiro moved to San Mamés Barria from Osasuna, where, however, he was never able to make his debut in the first team.

Scouts from Bilbao clearly believed in the possibilities of broadening the horizons of the player born in Dakar. Therefore, on their recommendation, the management board decided to send a purchase offer of two million euros, which Osasuna had to accept anyway as part of the release clause.

After reaching an agreement with the left-back’s agent, the contract became valid until the end of June 2029.

Although Boiro was born in Senegal, from the age of four he was raised only in Pamplona.

After joining a few football schools in 2021, he landed in one of the more serious ones, belonging to a representative of LaLiga.

In the reserve team at the third and fourth league level, he made a total of 67 appearances, including a goal and five assists.

In the past, coaches also sent Bioro into battle as a winger.

After the purchase was announced, Athletic rose from its knees and scored three more goals from a 1-2 score, eliminating FC Barcelona from the King’s Cup in the quarterfinals after extra time.
