The Team Ñuble Athletics Selection continues to contribute to the region’s medal table in the Araucanía Binational Games, which are being held in Río Negro, Argentina.
One of the athletes who is confirming her prominence in the throwing events is the tall Rafaela González, who on Wednesday, on the third day of competition, won the silver medal in the shot put, while that Valentina Figueroa took the bronze medal in the hammer throw.
At the close of the second day (Tuesday), Sebastián Dossow won the silver medal in the 5,000 meter dash with a time of 15:33:42.
Meanwhile, Joaquín Navarrete Grez obtained third place in the long jump with a mark of 6.61 meters.
Hugo Vargas, Joaquín Navarrete, Andrés Villarreal and José Luis Toledo, made up the 4 x 100 relay, which won the silver medal.
These medals are added to the first six that Team Ñuble won at the start of the La Araucanía 2023 Binational Games, when Sebastián Dossow was champion in the 1,500 meter dash, the women’s cycling team was second in the time trial and the men’s third; Rafaela González won bronze in the discus, Juan José Eriza in the shot put and Martina Mejías in the long jump.

Meanwhile, the men’s soccer team has achieved results that make it excited about playing the gold cup in these Araucanía Games.
This is because they defeated the La Pampa team 2-1, which is the current champion of the competition and had previously tied 1-1 with Los Ríos.
“Our goal is to try to reach the final to be champions,” anticipated the offensive midfielder, Pablo Toledo, who plays in the Ñublense cadets, like other values of the delegation.
