Clashes between police and demonstrators broke out today in Athens during a protest over the deadly train crash, Reuters reported.
About 10,000 people – students, railway workers and others – gathered in Syntagma Square today to express their anger over the crash, which killed at least 57 people and injured dozens.

Earlier today, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis asked for forgiveness from the families of the dozens killed in the country’s worst railway accident. “As prime minister, I owe it to everyone, but especially to the relatives of the victims,” wrote the head of the office in Athens.
