The Athens Stock Exchange reached close to 1,400 units in Wednesday’s session without managing to catch them. Despite this, the AX is in its second consecutive upward day after the big sell-off on Monday, a development that is definitely considered positive.
Particularly, the General Index closed with an increase 1.94% at 1,394.29 units and a turnover of 103.23 million euros. In fact, at the highest point of the day, it reached 1,399.33 units, but without managing to hold it.
The reaction of the stock market in the last two sessions has covered a significant part (+3.96%) of the fall of 6.27% on Monday, while 3.3 billion euros have been recovered from the “lost” 6 billion euros , at the capitalization level.
The large-cap index rose 1.81%, while the mid-cap index gained 2.72%.
Today’s course of the ASE reflects the general upward trend observed in the global markets, after “Black” Monday, with all the main Asian, European and American indices moving positively.
Among the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Aegean Airlines (+5.32%), Autohellas (+4.74%), Motor Oil (+4.59%), GEK TERNA (+ 4.19%) and Piraeus (+3.89%). Conversely, the shares of Coa Cola HBC (-1.02%) and OTE (-0.68%) fell.
The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, trading 5,677,045 and 4,016,489 shares, respectively. The highest value of transactions was recorded by Nthniki with 14.93 million euros and Piraeus with 14.89 million euros.
93 stocks moved up, 14 fell and 14 remained stable.
Her greater rise the shares recorded: Bitros +7.94% and Space Hellas +6.75%.
Her greater fall the shares recorded: Tria Alpha(k) -8.93% and Flexopak -6.36%.
