The Athens stock exchange may have started today’s session with enthusiasm, but gradually buyers are becoming more selective and sellers have found an opportunity to reduce risk at better prices.
In particular, the General Index registers an increase of 0.64% to 1,408.22 points, while the turnover is at 66.4 million. euros and the volume at 16 million pieces. The FTSE 25 also recorded gains of 0.73%, at 3,413.72 points, while the banking index rose 0.86% at 1,206.99 points.
Away from the daytime highs
The European markets, together with the Greek one, have a cooler feeling about the day after the elections in the USA, from which Donald Trump was again elected president of the USA, after a “break” of four years. And more cautious buying interventions, both in international and domestic markets, if one excludes the jump recorded by derivatives on Wall Street.
Of course, the positive climate has not been eliminated, with the Greek stock market staying away from betting on the recovery of 1,420 points and spending more on maintaining 1,400 points. However, this does not mean that the negative scenario has been completely reversed for a market that has been struggling for months to break out into the clearing towards the highs of the year, but in any case its presence within the range of recent accumulation is positive.
After all, no one forgets that we are in November and many portfolios are taking stock of the year, while tonight MSCI will announce the new indices. It is recalled that the MSCI Greece Standard includes 9 stocks (National Bank, Piraeus Bank, Alpha Bank, Eurobank, Jumbo, OTE, OPAP. PPC and Mytileneos).
On the dashboard
On the board now, Titan is trading up 3.03%, with Cenergy gaining 2.53%. Above 1% is the rise in Alpha Bank, Eurobank, Coca Cola, Jumbo, GEK Terna, Sarantis and Ellaktor.
Metlen, Piraeus, Hellenic Petroleum, Aegean, Lambda, PPC, Biohalco, Ethniki, Motor Oil, Terna Energy and AIA are moving slightly upwards, while EYDAP, ELHA, OPAP and Autohellas are slightly down. OTE loses 1.42%.
