The organization of the 2024 Athens Classic Marathon received a major blow, as the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, made a post about the race and revealed that he was scheduled to participate, but a back injury prevented him from running.
“Seventy-three thousand athletes from 158 countries are participating in the Athens Classic Marathon weekend,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in a post on social media.
He points out that he himself had planned to run 5km. “But unfortunately the recovery from a lower back injury doesn’t allow me to do that. Instead I’m in the office working instead of getting ready for five.
