While some major gaming companies are considering acquiring modern IPs and developers, like Microsoft acquiring Activision Blizzard King and Sony PlayStation with Bungie and Destiny, Atari is turning its attention to the past.
A few months ago, Atari acquired a large number of old IP, including the rights to the Bubsy game. Why should we bring it back?Because withFromMax(gratefulgame developer), Atari CEO Wade Rosen has now put out a call among independent developers to come up with ideas for a brand new game in the series.
Specifically, Rosen said he is looking for “Fun, innovative and tongue-in-cheek” promotion, and“The last thing anyone wants right now is a truly generic platformer.
This certainly means that Atari’s first steps in this newly acquired IP treasure trove include bringing back the platform series.
